***TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU WITH VISTADOME TRAIN
Today is the day to experience Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological wonders. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 6:30 a.m. and travel by private van to Poroy-Cusco Train Station, where you will board the Vistadome Train departing at approximately 7:35 a.m.
From January through April, the Vistadome Train does not operate from Poroy. In this case, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:45 a.m. and drive to Ollantaytambo Train Station for the 7:05 a.m. Vistadome departure. If you are staying in Ollantaytambo, pickup will be at 6:45 a.m.
Your journey takes you through the spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by impressive mountains and snow-capped peaks. As the train continues toward Aguas Calientes, the landscape gradually transforms from broad Andean valleys into a dramatic river canyon surrounded by lush subtropical vegetation. The Vilcanota River accompanies you throughout much of the journey until you reach Aguas Calientes, located at 2,040 m / 6,693 ft above sea level.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your guide will be waiting for you at the train station. You will have a short break to purchase a sandwich or snack before boarding the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. Once at the citadel, your guide will lead you on an approximately two-hour tour through the most significant areas of Machu Picchu, located at 2,430 m / 7,972 ft above sea level.
After your visit, you will return to Aguas Calientes by shuttle bus and have time to enjoy the town before your return journey. Depending on availability, you may board one of the early evening Vistadome trains departing at 4:22 p.m., 4:43 p.m., or 6:20 p.m. for Poroy from May to December. During January to April, you will return by Vistadome Train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our private transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. Your estimated arrival will be between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., depending on the train departure available at the time you book your Machu Picchu tour with us.
***We always prioritize Circuit 2 when booking your Machu Picchu entrance ticket. However, availability depends on the date of your reservation. If Circuit 2 is not available at the time of booking, we will reserve another available circuit, such as Circuit 1 or Circuit 3. We recommend making your reservation in advance.
Due to the limited time available on this one-day Machu Picchu Tour, the additional hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain is not possible.
The return Vistadome train schedule is subject to availability and will depend on how far in advance you book the Machu Picchu Tour with us.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN MACHU PICCHU?
Weather conditions at Machu Picchu can change quickly throughout the day. Mornings are often cooler, while temperatures become warmer as the day progresses. During the rainy season, from November to April, rain showers are more frequent and can occur at any time.
We recommend bringing layers, a light jacket, comfortable walking shoes, and a rain poncho. It is also a good idea to carry sun protection, such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, as the sun can be strong even when the weather feels cool.
