I was born in the native community of Callanga, located in the district of Challabamba, in the province of Paucartambo, Cusco Region, southern Peru. My community lies within the surroundings of Manu National Park, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

I grew up in an evangelical Christian family with eight siblings, in a home filled with love, faith, humility, hard work, and solidarity. My first language is Quechua, the ancestral language passed down through generations of our Inca ancestors. Growing up, I was deeply connected to my roots, my culture, and the traditions of my people. From an early age, I learned to appreciate nature, community life, and the Christian values that continue to guide my personal and professional journey today.

As a child, I walked approximately four hours every day to attend school. These daily journeys through mountains, rivers, and forests strengthened my character and taught me the value of perseverance. Thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of my parents, I was given the opportunity to receive an education—a privilege that not every child in my community was fortunate enough to have. These experiences inspired me to dream beyond the limits of my surroundings and to believe that a different future was possible.

At the age of twelve, I moved to the town of Challabamba to continue my secondary education, as my community only offered primary schooling. Leaving my family at such a young age was one of the most difficult challenges of my life, but it also marked the beginning of a journey of personal growth and determination that continues to this day.

Later, my desire to keep learning and growing brought me to the city of Cusco. There, I became fully independent and learned to balance work and study at the same time in order to support myself. Those years taught me discipline, resilience, responsibility, and the importance of never giving up on my dreams.

My parents still live in Callanga, a community that can only be reached after a two-day walk due to the absence of road access. While it is a place of extraordinary natural beauty, many families continue to face challenges related to education, healthcare, and access to basic services. Growing up in this reality gave me a deep understanding of the struggles faced by many rural communities throughout Peru and inspired a lifelong desire to help create opportunities for others.

Driven by my passion for learning and personal growth, I studied Tourism and English while working as a porter on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. This experience allowed me to understand firsthand the dedication, effort, and commitment required behind every journey. After completing my studies, I worked for several local tourism companies, gaining valuable experience in operations, logistics, and customer service.

Through hard work and perseverance, I achieved one of my greatest professional dreams: becoming a licensed Official Tour Guide. As a guide, I had the privilege of sharing the history, culture, and natural beauty of Peru with travelers from around the world.

Today, I am taking another important step in my journey with the creation of CALLANGA FAMILY EXPLORERS.

This company was born from my love for my homeland, the faith and values instilled in me by my parents, and my commitment to my family, my community, and future generations. My dream is to share the authentic spirit of Peru with travelers while helping create opportunities for the communities that need them most.
