Experience the spectacular landscapes of the Peruvian Andes on an exciting ATV adventure to Rainbow Mountain. Ride through the high-Andean countryside to the viewpoint of Rainbow Mountain, located at 5,036 m / 16,522 ft above sea level, where you can admire its striking natural colors and breathtaking mountain scenery.
This full-day experience combines the thrill of riding an ATV, a short hike, and spectacular views of the Andes, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide.
ITINERARY
***RAINBOW MOUNTAIN ATV TOUR | 1 DAY
At 4:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and head south of the city. We will travel for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach the district of Pitumarca, located at 3,570 m / 11,713 ft above sea level, where we will enjoy breakfast before continuing our adventure.
We will then continue along an unpaved road until we reach the private property of Kayrahuire Alto, located at 4,450 m / 14,600 ft above sea level, where we will leave our vehicle. There, our guide will provide a brief explanation of how to operate and ride the ATVs, followed by a short practice session to help you become familiar with the vehicles and ensure a safer experience.
Next, we will begin an approximately 25-minute ATV ride through impressive high-Andean landscapes, surrounded by mountains and vast plains, until we reach the final parking area. From there, we will take a short 5-minute walk to the viewpoint of Rainbow Mountain, located at 5,036 m / 16,522 ft above sea level. From this point, we will admire its impressive natural colors and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Andean landscape.
After enjoying the scenery and taking photographs, we will return by ATV along the same route for approximately 25 minutes until we reach the parking area where our vehicle is waiting. We will then head to the restaurant to enjoy lunch.
After lunch, we will continue our journey back to Cusco, where we will drop you off at Plaza Regocijo, located next to the Plaza de Armas, at approximately 5:00 p.m., marking the end of the tour.

Regarding the ATVs, we offer two options: a single ATV, where one person rides and drives their own ATV throughout the tour, and a two-person ATV, where two passengers share one ATV. The prices for both options are listed below.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
The weather during the Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour can change quickly due to the high altitude and mountain environment. Early mornings are generally very cold, while temperatures may feel more comfortable when the sun is out. Rain, snow, and strong winds are more common during the rainy season from November to April, while the dry season from May to October generally brings sunnier days, colder mornings, and clearer conditions.
Weather conditions can change throughout the day, especially at higher elevations. We recommend being prepared for sudden changes in temperature, wind, and precipitation throughout the tour.
ARE TIPS MANDATORY?
